To show our customers that we manage quality seriously and adopt accurate control systems at every stage, from design to production, Piaval is UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 certified. In addition, since 1999 Piaval has been collaborating with CATAS to test the resistance, safety and durability of our products. CATAS is the largest Italian institute for certification, research and testing within the wood and furniture industry, a centre of excellence in Italy and around the world.
Seats and backs, both vertical and inclined, are subjected to 200,000 cycles to test their resistance to stress and wear; the load tests – on the seat – are calculated for use by people weighing up to 120 kg for standard seats and 350 kg for bariatric seats.

In 2010, thanks to the company’s treatment of wood as a precious resource to be preserved responsibly, it was obtained the certification from the Forest Stewardship Council®, an international organization which promotes the management of wood around the world in an environmentally conscious and economically responsible manner. On request, products can therefore be FSC® certified, as they are made using FSC® certified material and other controlled materials. In 2015, Piaval was certified by Ergocert, the ergonomics usability and research body, for some 35 of our models. This attests the conformity of our models to the highest ergonomic and usability standards, demonstrating their safety and effectiveness.
